BRYNE PICKLING AND SPICE COMPANY
Branding and Packaging
about the company.
BRYNE Pickling and Spice Company was created with the intention of establishing was sustainable practices within the homes of millennials - and other mass pickle lovers. The idea is that BRYNE will send you your very own Ultimate At-Home starter Pickling Set , to your front door step, complete with all the tools, instructions, and spices necessary to create your own pickles.
about the design:
The brand is built with sustainability in mind, inclusive of refillable/refundable bottles/jars, corrugated cardboard boxes, non-toxic inks, decomposable Primus wafer potato starch papers, and uncoated biodegradable packing tissue.
In an effort to reach an oddly specific, but rather large demographic of people, the box itself has the tongue twister, “Peter Piper Picked a Peck of Pickled Peppers” repeated all along the inside panels.
The type solution chosen is a combination of a more stylized Western styled face called Sonoran, created by James Coffman, paired up with a monospaced secondary face. This hefty chunk of a font seemed to really take on the face of the brand, and thus was used as the trademark for the company. This pairing was meant to evoke a sense of old and new worlds colliding- relating to the farmhouse practices of pickling methods now entering your modern household.
